WELCOME TO YOUR FATHER'S DEN!

Welcome to Your Father's Den! Here you will find the"best of the best" of reel to reel music just like dear old Dad use to play. The format and genre will be similar to that of the Hut. I chose to do this blog because there are tapes out there in high quality analog that no one has ever heard before(including myself) It gives the listener a chance to hear some great music as it was meant to be heard. So I hope you will enjoy this new blog and I welcome any comments.

Thanks very much! Medallion Records (and Tapes) put out some really good albums.

Hi all! You can thank Mother of Your Father's Den. Father has been quite lazy and she had to jump his butt a little to get him motivated to put out some more posts. As it is, it seems like all the cool tapes that I want to post are available on CD. I guess that's a good thing because that's why I started Bloggin' to begin with, the lack of availability of these fine albums and tapes. I do however, have some Living Strings that should be posted also maybe some Enoch Light even though most of the tapes I have can be acquired on LP through other blog sites. Once again I owe it to Mrs. Father's Den for being so thoughtful of the fans and followers of this blog. Thanks Sweetie!! :)

Welcome back, we missed you and your music. Please let us have tape copies of e.g.Enoch Light, where only LPs exist at present. Tape is always better than vynil!

Welcome Back! Missed the postings. Was concerned that you were ill or that the music Gestapo had you in some far-off Gulag.

No, nothing like that. Though I am a little concerned since I have been out of the loop on the happenings out there in Blogland. I recon as long as I stay legit on copyrighted material, I should be ok. Then again as I've stated earlier I'm not too sure, but seeing new bloggers out there gives me a little more re-assurance. Let's hope things stay quiet because I'm not out to make trouble, I'm out to make out of print music available and hopefully as it becomes popular, some of these companies will start producing CD's of these fine recordings. Just check out Amazon the trend is starting already.

Slayer,
That's really good to know. I'm glad to help you re-live your past memories and I'm glad you finally found an album you've been looking for.

I stumbled in here trying to find a copy of Persuasive Percussion Vol 2, and never expected to find it in tape! In fact, in my travels I have never seen old taped music offered for d/l. Going to be interesting to discover how it sounds. I have some experience with old (and not so old) vinyl done in FLAC (free lossless audio codec) at both 16 and 24 bit-rates. The files are larger, but there is a depth and detail to the music that I have found impossible to duplicate using mp3 in any bitrate. I can see you not making them available for download, since they're so large, but you may want to consider this for your own archive, since tape doesn't last forever...

Thanks for your hard work in posting this hard to find stuff!
